Detroit, MI (August 10, 2023) - Detroit Police Department officers were called to a collision involving at least two drivers on Interstate 696 in the Detroit area on Thursday evening, August 10.
Preliminary reports from the DPD indicate that the crash, which shut down several lanes on the eastbound side of the highway after the I-275 transition ramp, occurred at around 6:15 p.m. According to the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation, authorities arrived on the site shortly after the roadway was shut down to conduct an investigation.
Shortly after the crash, paramedics arrived and appeared to evaluate at least two victims. That said, officers from the DPD are still looking into the incident and have not provided further details about the victims or their injuries.
