Detroit, MI (August 11, 2023) - On Friday evening, August 11, the Detroit Police Department reported a collision with injuries at the interchange of Interstate 75 and Vernor Highway.

The incident occurred on southbound I-75 at approximately 11:10 p.m., according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. Due to the incident, the area leading to the Vernor exit was closed.

The Detroit PD established a perimeter and requested medical aid. However, the circumstances of the drivers have not been made public. Initial reports indicate that a motorist attempted to merge onto the highway when the apparent rear-end or chain-reaction wreck occurred.

However, the DPD remains in command of the ongoing investigation and will provide the public with updated information as it becomes available.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their family members. We hope for their full and fast recovery.
