Sterling Heights, MI (August 11, 2023) - On Friday, August 11, in the later afternoon, officers from the Detroit Police Department were dispatched to a local roadway in Sterling Heights after receiving an accident alert and report of injuries.
The DPD and the Michigan DOT stated that the accident occurred in the 16 block of Van Dyke Avenue at around 3:50 p.m. Officials first said two drivers and a few passengers were involved in the incident, which led to the subsequent dispatch of first responders. Emergency personnel also arrived at the site to assess the victims' injuries, though an unknown number of persons were involved.
DPD agents are now overseeing the investigation and have not provided any additional details in the interim.
