Detroit, MI (August 12, 2023) - On the evening of Saturday, August 12, several automobiles collided head-on on westbound Interstate 96 in the Detroit metropolitan region.
Police in Detroit said that at about 6:45 p.m. on I-96, right at the exit for Exit 30 and Alpine Avenue, an accident happened. The Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation both requested the assistance of emergency medical personnel.
DPD officers halted multiple lanes of traffic before paramedics arrived to tend to the injured. There has been no update on the victims' situations in the meanwhile.
The DPD has made an open call for anybody with information that might help them in their investigation. There has been no update on the number of casualties.
