Southfield, MI – Two Killed in Lodge Freeway Crash with Fleeing Driver

Detroit, MI (August 13, 2023) - A collision involving several vehicles occurred on Sunday, August 13, on Michigan State Route 39 in the Detroit metropolitan region.

Officers with the Detroit Police Department were summoned to the scene to launch their initial on-site investigation. The DPD added that the collision shut down northbound M-39 at Joy Road at 3:35 p.m. The Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation also reported the incident, prompting EMTs to dispatch to the scene at around 4:30 p.m.

Paramedics arrived and evaluated all involved victims for injuries, but no more information about the crash has been made public. The inquiry into the wreck is still ongoing in the interim.
