Detroit, MI (August 16, 2023) - On the afternoon of August 16th, at least two cars were involved in a collision on westbound I-696 in the Detroit metropolitan region.
The Detroit Police Department was sent to the site of the crash shortly after it occurred. According to preliminary DPD research, the accident that blocked lanes left and center on I-696 at I-75 happened around 4:30 p.m. The DPD and the Michigan Department of Transportation immediately began an on-site investigation.
No more information regarding the victims' status or the reason of the collision has been made public at this time, however paramedics also responded and assessed at least a couple of them for injuries.
The DPD will be in charge of supervising the probe from here on out.
