Grand Rapids, MI - US 131 Site of Injury Accident at Turner Ave

Grand Rapids, MI (August 19, 2023) - The Turner Avenue exit on U.S. Highway 131 was closed after many vehicles were involved in an accident on Saturday afternoon, August 19, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

Local authorities said the southbound exit off U.S. 131/Turner was blocked. According to the MDOT's report, at least two vehicles were involved in the collision, which occurred at around 2:45 p.m.

The exact number of casualties is unknown; however, paramedics were seen attending to patients and evacuating individuals who were harmed via local news footage.

Kent County Sheriff's Office deputies have issued an appeal for anybody who may have information to come forward.
