Detroit, MI (August 29, 2023) - On Tuesday afternoon, August 29, in the Detroit area, two drivers allegedly collided in a vehicle wreck that resulted in at least one injury and a serious car fire.
Dispatchers received calls around 5:30 p.m., prompting them to send officers to the corner of 19 Mile Road and Schoenherr Road. Detroit authorities shut down the intersection, radioed for medical help, and alerted the Michigan State Police to help with the investigation. Firefighters were also dispatched to extinguish the flames coming from one of the cars, a white SUV.
Despite the assistance of first responders, it is not yet known how many persons were injured in the crash. The DPD has requested that any possible witnesses get in touch and aid the ongoing investigation.
