Detroit, MI (August 31, 2023) - On Thursday night, August 31, several vehicles collided on a highway in the Detroit area, injuring at least one person.
The crash, originally reported to police dispatchers at 6:00 p.m., occurred near the exit from Gratiot Avenue on westbound I-696. According to preliminary accounts, the accident completely closed up the highway. Detroit Police Department officers contacted local emergency medical technicians and troopers from the Michigan State Police for help with the investigation via radio.
The wounded were attended to by paramedics, while the exact number of casualties is unknown at this time. The DPD is appealing to any possible witnesses to come forward.
