Detroit, MI (September 6, 2023) - Several cars collided on I-75 on Wednesday morning, September 6, closing the right southbound lanes of the highway after 11 Mile Road.

After receiving reports from dispatchers, the Detroit Police Department sent a number of units to the scene. According to the Michigan Department of Transportation in the Oakland County area, at least two or three drivers were involved in the crash, which ultimately caused the closure of the left lanes and ramp lanes.

At about 8:30 a.m., Detroit police and Michigan State Police officers arrived at the scene to begin their investigation. It is unknown how many individuals were hurt; however, Detroit-area EMTs also responded to assess the victims.

As they wrap up their interviews with potential witnesses, DPD investigators are pressing forward with their inquiry. No additional details were provided to the public in the meantime.

The injured victims and their families are in our thoughts. We hope for their fast and full recovery.
