Saginaw, MI (September 12, 2023) - On Monday afternoon, a school bus from Chesaning Union Schools was involved in an accident that sent two students to the hospital.
The incident occurred on East Road near the Dollar General in Burt at approximately 4:00 p.m. Deputies with the Saginaw County Sheriff's Office reported that a school bus collided with a northbound Mitsubishi Outlander on East Road. The school bus did not stop in time for the Outlander to make a left turn into the Dollar General.
According to the police, there were 29 children on the bus, and two of them ended up at Covenant Medical Center. Their injuries do not seem to be life-threatening, police said. It's unclear if either of the drivers was hurt.
The police closed off the area while they conducted their investigation, which is currently continuing.
