Detroit, MI (September 19, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department received a collision alert and a report of injuries early during the late afternoon on Tuesday, September 19, and officers rushed to an accident involving several vehicles on Interstate 94.
At roughly 4:15 a.m. on the westbound freeway near Wayne Road, an accident occurred, as reported by the Detroit Police Department and the Michigan Department of Transportation. Authorities shut down most of I-94's lanes and called for backup after receiving reports of an accident on the left side of the freeway, which apparently involved multiple drivers and at least a handful of injured victims.
All injured individuals were immediately attended to by paramedics; however, their current conditions remain unknown. Authorities are still looking into the crash and will provide further details as they become available.
