Livonia, MI (September 19, 2023) - A city official in Livonia is being investigated for a collision that occurred last week and injured an off-duty police officer.

In a statement sent provided on Tuesday, September 19th, authorities said they have opened an investigation into the incident, though there have been no new developments on the accident in the interim.

The incident occurred when the city councilman's pickup truck collided with the officer's motorcycle on Middlebelt Road, south of Six Mile Road, in Livonia during the early morning hours on Thursday. Paramedics took the officer to the hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses were asked to contact the Livonia Police Department if they had additional information to report.
