Detroit, MI - Injuries Reported in I-696 Vehicle Wreck at Dequindre

Detroit, MI (September 28, 2023) - A collision involving several drivers occurred in Detroit early on Thursday, September 28.

Officers with the Detroit Police Department say that the collision occurred on eastbound I-696 after the Dequindre Road exit on Thursday morning at about 5:30 a.m.

No one was critically hurt in the accident, although at least two individuals were sent to the hospital for observation. Although the immediate causes of the crash are unknown, DPD officers say that reckless driving and early-morning congestion ahead of rush hour were likely factors.

Meanwhile, detective work is still in progress. Witnesses were asked to step forward if they had additional details to share with authorities.
