Grand Rapids, MI (October 3, 2023) - Police say that a motorcycle caught fire after it was involved in a collision with a bicycle on Tuesday, October 3, in Grand Rapids.

According to local police officers, the crash occurred at around 1:20 p.m. in the afternoon in the 400 block of Ionia Avenue SW. Almost immediately after the collision, police and firefighters arrived at the scene.

Per early reports from the Grand Rapids Police Department, the cyclist was sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, though their current condition is unknown. The motorcyclist was evaluated for injuries at the scene, although it is unclear whether they also sustained injuries in the collision.

An inquiry is still being conducted by police, but no more information has been made public.
