Detroit, MI - Fatal Wrong-Way Accident on I-75 at Lodge Fwy

Livingston, MI – Car Crash with Injuries on US-23 at Lee Rd

Detroit, MI (October 12, 2023) - On Thursday morning, near the intersection of two major highways in Detroit, there was a fatal head-on collision.

Authorities say that a dark-colored Ford Fusion and a red GMC Sierra pick-up truck collided at the site of the crash on the northbound I-75 exit ramp to the Lodge Freeway near Trumbull, where the Michigan State Police were already on the scene.

Both vehicles were hit head-on, and their occupants suffered serious injuries, in addition to one fatality at the scene.

MSP also verified that one of the motorists had been going the wrong way (north in the southbound lanes of the Lodge from Larned).

Troopers said one of the drivers was pronounced dead, though no further details were released.

Officers are continuing to investigate at this time.
