Detroit, MI (October 13, 2023) - After a semi-truck slammed into a median wall after an accident on Friday, October 13, police restricted traffic to one lane in each direction on Interstate 75.

State troopers from Michigan arrived at the intersection of Interstate 75 and Schaefer Road in Detroit at roughly 9:20 a.m.

Police said the semi's driver was going too fast for the weather and road conditions before losing control and crashing into a wall and possibly two or three other vehicles. Large slabs of concrete flew off the semi's trailer and onto the highway as the truck's fuel tanks ruptured.

Firefighters from Detroit and state troopers from Michigan were there for several hours, though the total number of injuries victims is unknown. An investigation is active in the meantime.

The injured and their families are in our thoughts at this time.
