Orange Twp., MI – Man Killed in Slip & Fall Accident on S State Rd

Kalamazoo, MI (October 14, 2023) - Additional details have been released after two children were found dead following a fire that destroyed a house in Kalamazoo’s Edison neighborhood early Monday morning.

The fire happened around 2:00 a.m. at a house near Division Street. The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said that when firefighters got on the scene, they found heavy fire on the first floor, which quickly spread to the second floor.

Police identified the children as a 4-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy. Before police arrived, one adult and one child were able to escape the fire, police said, but both sustained injuries in the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
