Madison Heights, MI (October 20, 2023) - The police are trying to track down the driver of a suspicious vehicle in connection with a hit-and-run that took place on Friday morning, October 20.

Per local authorities, the incident occurred around 8:00 a.m., and police were called to the intersection of East Progress Drive and Couzens Avenue in reference to a serious collision. A male teenager, aged 16, was located by police with injuries after he was reportedly struck by a car in the area.

According to the inquiry, the victim was crossing the street on his bike when a black SUV ran a red light and struck him. After that, the SUV reportedly took off on westbound I-696.

The victim was transported to Royal Oak Beaumont, where he remains in stable condition.

Detective Lieutenant Koehler with the Madison Heights Police requested that anybody with knowledge about this event contact him.
