Mason Township, MI (October 21, 2023) - Cass County sheriff's deputies said a man is now being investigated for allegedly leading authorities on a pursuit from Indiana to Michigan before smashing into another car and killing one person.
On Saturday, a fatal crash claimed the life of a 49-year-old man on Old Highway 205 in Mason Township. After a brief chase with Michigan State Police, the suspect motorist was apprehended while on foot.
Prior to the suspect's arraignment in court, their identity will not be released. Officers believe the suspect driver may have been under the influence when the crash occurred, though the total number of charges pending in the meantime is unclear.
