Detroit, MI - Rollover Wreck, Injuries on M-53 at 19 Mile Rd

Detroit, MI (October 23, 2023) - On Monday afternoon, October 23, several vehicles collided in the left and right lanes of the highway on Michigan 53 in Detroit, leading to victim injuries and a rollover, as reported by Michigan State Police troopers and local officers.

According to a report from troopers with the MSP, at least one of the drivers involved in the collision, which occurred on the northbound side of Michigan Highway 53 after the 19 Mile Road exit, was assessed for injuries before being transported to an area hospital. Though officers wrapped up their on-scene investigation, which started shortly after the wreck was reported at 4:00 p.m., they have not provided specific details about the victims involved.

The roadway was closed for cleanup just before the Mound Road exit but has since reopened. The inquiry into the cause of the accident is ongoing and active in the meantime.
