Kalamazoo, MI - Man Killed in Go-Kart Wreck on Michigan Ave

Kalamazoo, MI (October 23, 2023) - A man was killed after a pickup vehicle collided with a go-kart in Kalamazoo, according to the Sheriff's Office.

On Monday night at around 9:20 p.m., police were called to the scene in the 8900 block of East Michigan Avenue after a collision apparently occurred.

According to reports, an unlit go-kart was heading west on East Michigan Street. The go-kart was rear-ended by a GMC 1500 pickup truck and thrown into the eastbound lane, where a Dodge Journey struck the driver. The man on the kart was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The police are looking into whether or not the truck's driver was under the influence of alcohol, though the Sheriff's Office requests that anybody with information on this collision please get in touch with them.
