Pavilion Twnshp, MI - Injuries Recorded in Mobile Home Fire Near Comstock

Lapeer, MI (October 24, 2023) - On Monday afternoon, a fire broke out in the living room of a duplex, forcing six people and three pets to escape.

Firefighters from the City of Lapeer responded to a call about a house on fire in the 3500 block of Chesterfield Drive in Oregon Township at about 7:30 a.m. on Monday, October 23.

The blaze was restricted to the original structure, though authorities say there are no fire hydrants in this part of Oregon Township. From the intersection of Oregon and Millville Roads, the department sent a fleet of water tenders to provide water to various locations

The five people made it out of the home, but EMTs evaluated all of them for minor injuries. Lapeer Fire Chief Michael Vogt said in a press release that the American Red Cross has begun helping the victims.

The origin of the fire has yet to be determined.

Our thoughts are extended to the injured victims and their families. We hope for their full recovery.
