Detroit, MI (October 25, 2023) - The Detroit Police Department is conducting an investigation after a victim was discovered inside a burning residence on the city's west side early Wednesday morning.
The body of a 29-year-old male was found by firemen at about 4:20 a.m. on Curtis Street near Gilchrist, between Outer Drive and the Southfield Freeway, according to police reports. A representative for the Detroit Police Department has confirmed that they are currently looking into the man's death.
The man's identity is being withheld at this time. Authorities added that police and firemen were still on the site late that morning and had cordoned off the area around the house.
As of now, investigators have not determined what caused the fire, but an inquiry remains active.
