Detroit, MI (October 25, 2023) - On Wednesday, October 25, at least one person was hurt in a pedestrian accident that occurred in the greater Detroit area, as reported by Macomb County authorities.

Authorities say that the incident occurred when a driver struck a striking UAW worker at the Stellantis Toledo North assembly plant around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and that it appeared that at least one of the drivers may have fled the scene after the incident occurred.

Detroit Fire and EMS units from the area were en route, but it's not clear how seriously the pedestrian was injured.

Troopers with the Michigan State Police assessed the scene, along with officers from the Detroit Police Department. However, officers are continuing to investigate at this time.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their loved ones in the meantime.
