Grand Rapids, MI (November 1, 2023) – A man from Cedar Springs lost his life as a result of a fatal car crash that occurred on Wednesday morning in Grand Rapids.
The accident was reported by law enforcement at around 8:15 a.m. on November 1.
According to the Michigan State Police, a 63-year-old man was walking near the gore of the roadway on Interstate 196 when he was struck by a vehicle near the ramp. Authorities determined that the 47-year-old woman driving a car in the area lost control of her vehicle and struck the pedestrian.
The man sustained severe injuries due to the crash. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
The woman did not suffer any injuries in the crash.
The state police are actively investigating the collision.
