Detroit, MI (November 3, 2023) - Eastbound I-96 in Eaton County reopened early Friday morning after a collision that happened late Thursday night, according to local authorities in the area.

There was a four-hour closure of I-75 between Saginaw Highway and Grand River, officers added.

Just before 3:00 a.m., eastbound I-96 was cleared for traffic. At least one individual was injured, prompting the Eaton County Sheriff's Office to call for an ambulance. The exact number of casualties, however, remains unknown at this time.

Detectives are wrapping up their investigation and interviewing potential witnesses. In the interim, no other details have been revealed.

We are thinking about the injured victims and their loved ones at this time, and we hope for their full recovery.
