Gaines Township, MI (November 3, 2023) - Troopers say a man was critically injured in a chain-reaction collision in Gaines Township on Thursday morning.

Michigan State Police troopers responded to a three-car collision on westbound Michigan Highway 6 near East Paris Avenue around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday. The chain-reaction accident, according to troopers, occurred as traffic was beginning to slow in the area. The cause of the initial slowing is still unknown, however.

According to MSP, a 24-year-old man from East Lansing was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Highway patrol officers urged motorists to choose an alternative route as the on-scene investigation proceeded. MSP troopers asked any witnesses to get in touch.

We are thinking about the injured victims and their loved ones at this time, and we hope for their full recovery.
