Kalamazoo, MI (November 4, 2023) - Drivers were detoured after a two-car crash blocked a portion of West Main Street Saturday.

The crash happened on the roadway near Grand Avenue and Thompson Street. The chain-reaction accident, according to troopers, occurred as traffic was beginning to slow in the area. The cause of the initial slowing is still unknown, however.

The total number of injured victims is unknown, but EMTs were spotted at the scene by local news footage.

Highway patrol officers urged motorists to choose an alternative route as the on-scene investigation proceeded. MSP troopers asked any witnesses to get in touch.

We are thinking about the injured victims and their loved ones at this time, and we hope for their full recovery.
