Macomb, MI – Crash blocks I-696 W near Gratiot Ave, Injuries Follow

Clinton County, MI (November 25, 2023) - After a four-vehicle collision took place on Friday, November 24, officials from the Clinton County Sheriff's Office advised drivers to avoid Old U.S. 127 between Alward Road and Round Lake Road.

According to Det. Sgt. Chris Crawford of the Clinton County Sheriff's Department, a 33-year-old man died, and two others were taken to a nearby hospital after the crash. An SUV reportedly rear-ended a large pickup truck while they were both heading south on Old U.S. 127. The SUV's subsequent centerline crossing set off a "chain reaction" involving two other northbound vehicles on Old U.S. 127. The Accident Reconstruction team from the Clinton County Sheriff's Department is handling the ongoing investigation.

Our deepest condolences go out to the deceased man's family. The injured victims and their loved ones remain in our thoughts.
