At around 2:40 p.m., the Michigan Department of Transportation notified officials that an accident occurred on Interstate 696.

Reports show that the eastbound side of the highway was blocked near Van Dyke Avenue due to a vehicle collision that blocked multiple lanes. The police and firefighters responded to the scene and immediately secured the area.
