Portage Twp., MI (March 22, 2024) – The Michigan State police responded to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred near the Michigan Tech golf course and ended in injuries. The accident was reported to the police at approximately 11:25 a.m. on March 20.

Preliminary reports indicate that a black Dodge passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on US Highway 41 when he became involved in a collision. As a result of the crash, the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a utility pole. One person involved in the accident, a 70-year-old man, was injured in the crash. He was transported by Mercy EMS to UP Health System Portage for emergency treatment. At this time, investigations into the crash are ongoing.
