Ann Arbor Twp., MI – One Killed in I-94 Accident near State St

Ann Arbor Twp., MI (April 4, 2024) – On April 2, 2024, around 4:00 p.m., troopers from the Brighton Post responded to an unidentified traffic accident near Interstate 94 and State Street in Ann Arbor Township, Washtenaw County.

Upon investigating, they found that a 38-year-old male from Jackson was driving a Dodge Journey westbound on Interstate 94 when the front driver’s side tire detached, crossing the median wall and colliding with a Chevy Malibu traveling eastbound. The impact caused the vehicle's roof to cave in, fatally injuring the 49-year-old male driver from Dearborn Heights. The investigation is ongoing, with no evidence suggesting alcohol or drugs were involved.
