Car Accidents in Michigan

Flint, MI – Injury Crash at Chavez Dr & E Third StMichigan roads see a high number of traffic collisions every year, with many leading to severe injuries or fatalities. The Michigan State Police report that over 250,000 car crashes occur annually in the state. Many of these accidents result from reckless driving, weather conditions, and driver negligence.

Here are some of the most common injuries suffered in car accidents:

  • Whiplash – A sudden impact, such as a car accident or a fall, can violently jerk the neck back and forth, causing strain to the muscles and ligaments in the neck. This can lead to long-term discomfort, stiffness, chronic pain, and even mobility issues if not treated properly.
  • Broken Bones – Collisions and accidents often result in fractures to bones like the arms, legs, ribs, or even the skull. These injuries can take weeks or months to heal and may require extensive medical treatment, surgeries, physical therapy, and rehabilitation to regain full functionality.
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) – Head injuries from accidents can range from mild concussions, which may cause temporary confusion or headaches, to severe brain trauma that affects memory, cognitive function, and emotional well-being. In extreme cases, TBIs can lead to permanent disabilities and require long-term care.
  • Spinal Cord Injuries – Damage to the spinal cord, often caused by high-impact accidents, can interrupt communication between the brain and the body. This can result in partial or complete paralysis, loss of sensation, and significant lifestyle changes. Treatment is often complex, involving surgeries, physical therapy, and adjustments to daily living.
