Lansing, MI - Thirteen Injured in Five-Vehicle Crash on S Martin Luther King Jr Blvd

Lansing, MI (April 26, 2025) – A major crash involving five vehicles left thirteen people injured, including two critically, on Wednesday evening, April 23, in Lansing. Authorities responded to the chaotic scene on South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Pierce Road after receiving reports of a serious multi-vehicle collision tied to street racing.

Police reported that two drivers engaged in racing collided with a third vehicle whose driver was attempting to make a lawful turn. The initial crash triggered a chain reaction that ultimately involved two more vehicles. Two individuals were ejected from one of the speeding vehicles and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The remaining eleven victims suffered a range of less severe injuries. Authorities indicated that the injured individuals ranged in age from just 3 years old to 52 years old. Investigators continue to review evidence and gather information about the incident. Charges are likely as authorities piece together the events leading up to the crash.

Our hearts go out to all of the injured victims and their families, and we are wishing everyone involved a smooth and full recovery.
