Car Accidents in Michigan

Flint, MI - Injuries Reported in Car Crash on Fremont StMichigan sees thousands of motor vehicle accidents each year. According to the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, there were more than 282,000 reported traffic crashes in a recent year. Of those, tens of thousands resulted in injuries that altered lives in significant ways. Factors like weather conditions, heavy traffic, and driver behaviors continue to contribute to the high number of accidents across the state.

Following a crash, it’s important to know what steps to take. Here are some helpful points to keep in mind:

  • Immediate Actions After a Crash: Immediately after an accident, it’s crucial to ensure your safety and that of others. Call 911, move to a safe location if possible, and check for injuries. Collecting contact information from witnesses and taking photographs of the scene can also be extremely helpful for future claims.
  • Importance of a Medical Check: Even if you feel fine, getting checked by a doctor is vital. Some injuries, like whiplash, soft tissue damage, or concussions, might not show symptoms right away. Medical evaluations create a record that can be critical if legal action becomes necessary later.
  • Preserving Evidence: Saving key pieces of evidence from the accident can strengthen your case. Keep photos, police reports, medical records, and communications with insurance companies organized. This documentation can support your claim and maximize potential compensation.
  • Impact on Daily Life: Car accidents can disrupt a person’s ability to work, take care of family, or enjoy daily activities. Recognizing the impact early allows victims to seek the necessary help and legal support to recover physically, emotionally, and financially.
