Ann Arbor, MI. – A 79-year-old man in a wheelchair died after being struck by a car on Monday night in Ann Arbor.
At around midnight, Ann Arbor police responded to reports of a pedestrian accident in the area of N. Fourth Avenue and E. Huron Street.
The man was crossing the street when he was struck by a white SUV.
Officers attempted life-saving measures on the man before he was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The 22-year-old female driver of the SUV did not stop at the scene but later turned herself in.
Authorities are yet to establish if intoxication was a contributing factor in the accident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
