Saginaw, MI - Hit-and-Run Crash on I-75 Leaves One Injured

Saginaw, MI (May 11, 2025) – On the night of Friday, May 9, an injury crash believed to be a hit-and-run occurred along the northbound side of Interstate 75 near exit 151 in Saginaw. The collision took place around 8:30 p.m., prompting a swift response from Michigan State Police, Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department, and Mobile Medical Response (MMR) units.

At least one individual was hurt in the incident and required emergency medical attention. Crews treated the victim at the scene before transporting them to a nearby hospital for additional care. Details about the suspect vehicle or the extent of the injuries have not yet been confirmed by authorities.

The northbound lanes experienced delays as responders worked to manage the scene and begin an investigation. Michigan State Police are actively searching for the driver involved in the hit-and-run and are asking the public for any information that might assist in identifying the fleeing party.

We hope the injured person makes a full and timely recovery.

Car Accidents in Michigan

Saginaw, MI - Hit-and-Run Crash on I-75 Leaves One InjuredMichigan drivers face a number of risks each time they take to the roads, with hit-and-run crashes posing unique challenges. In 2023, the state recorded thousands of such incidents—many of which involved injuries. Interstate routes like I-75 are especially prone to higher-speed accidents that can result in severe consequences.

Let’s take a closer look at why hit-and-run crashes are so concerning and the complications they create:

  • Delayed Medical Attention: When a driver flees the scene, emergency response may be delayed because no one remains to report the crash. This puts injured individuals at greater risk, especially if they are unconscious or unable to call for help.
  • Lack of Immediate Witnesses: Many hit-and-run crashes happen at night or in low-traffic areas. Without nearby witnesses or clear camera footage, identifying the at-fault driver becomes much more difficult, potentially limiting recovery options.
  • Insurance Challenges: Victims may struggle to recover compensation if the fleeing driver is not found. Even with uninsured motorist coverage, claims can take longer to process and may require extensive documentation to prove fault and damages.
  • Legal Complexity: These cases often require additional legal steps, including police reports, surveillance reviews, and possibly civil action if the suspect is identified later. Navigating this process without support can be overwhelming.
  • Emotional Toll: Not knowing who was responsible can leave victims feeling vulnerable, angry, or anxious. Many report ongoing emotional distress due to the injustice of someone leaving them injured without taking responsibility.
