Boston Twp., MI (May 12, 2025) – A head-on crash near Lowell on Saturday, May 10, claimed the life of one person and left others injured, according to the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash took place shortly after 6 p.m. on Centerline Road. Deputies reported that a vehicle traveling east crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on. The impact left one driver, a woman from Lowell, unconscious at the scene. Despite efforts by first responders to revive her, she was pronounced dead on-site.
Occupants of the second vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for care. Their injuries were described as not life-threatening.
Preliminary findings from deputies indicate that speed and alcohol may have played a role in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the full circumstances. Michigan State Police, along with Saranac Fire Department, Life EMS, and Aeromed, assisted deputies at the scene.
Our thoughts go out to the family of the individual who lost their life, and we hope for a full recovery for those who were injured.
