Pedestrian fatalities remain a serious concern across Michigan. In 2023, more than 180 pedestrians were killed in traffic incidents across the state. These tragic events often happen during low-light conditions or early morning hours, when visibility is limited. Cass County and other rural areas face unique challenges due to narrow roads and fewer lighting features.
