Car Accidents in Michigan

Mt. Morris Township, MI – Crash With Injuries at W Stanley Rd & Detroit StAccording to the Michigan State Police, thousands of personal injury crashes are reported across the state each year, many of which take place at busy intersections like those in Mt. Morris Township. In 2023, Michigan recorded tens of thousands of injury-causing crashes, with many stemming from speeding, distracted driving, and failure to yield. Rural roads and urban centers alike face risks, and driver awareness is key to minimizing injuries.

In light of this incident, it’s important to understand just how life-changing some of these injuries can be. Below are some of the most common injuries seen after auto accidents:

  • Whiplash and Neck Injuries: Even lower-speed collisions can cause painful neck trauma due to the sudden jolt of impact. Symptoms may include stiffness, limited range of motion, and chronic pain that can take weeks—or longer—to heal. These injuries often require ongoing physical therapy.
  • Broken Bones: Fractures are a common outcome of serious car accidents, especially in the arms, legs, ribs, or pelvis. These injuries can lead to long-term mobility issues and may even require surgical intervention followed by extended rehabilitation.
  • Head and Brain Trauma: Head injuries, including concussions or more severe traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), can occur even with seat belt use. These injuries may not always be immediately visible but can lead to memory issues, dizziness, or long-term cognitive impairments.
  • Back and Spinal Injuries: Spinal trauma can result in nerve damage or, in serious cases, partial or full paralysis. Back injuries may also involve herniated discs or chronic pain, requiring long-term medical care and lifestyle changes.
  • Soft Tissue Injuries: Bruising, sprains, and ligament damage can be deceptively painful. Though often considered less severe, these injuries can still limit function and result in missed work or reduced quality of life.
