Leoni Township, MI (May 23, 2025) – An overnight crash in Leoni Township claimed the life of a teenager and left another young person critically injured. The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety confirmed that the incident occurred around midnight on May 22 along Page Avenue near Portage Road.
Authorities say a 17-year-old student from Napoleon Public Schools was killed in the crash. The teen was pronounced dead at the scene. A minor who was a passenger in the vehicle was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition.
Emergency responders arrived shortly after the crash was reported and began their investigation while treating the injured. Crews worked to clear the scene and collect evidence to determine the events that led up to the wreck. No other vehicles have been confirmed involved at this time.
