Ann Arbor Twp., MI (May 27, 2025) – A serious rollover crash left two teenagers injured early Sunday morning, May 25, on northbound US-23 near Geddes Road in Washtenaw County’s Ann Arbor Township. The incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. and led to the temporary closure of the roadway for several hours.
According to a report from the Michigan State Police Brighton Post, the vehicle involved was a 2018 Nissan Rogue. The 17-year-old male driver from Ypsilanti was ejected during the crash and rushed to Trinity Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was listed in critical condition. A 16-year-old female passenger was trapped inside the SUV and later extracted by first responders. She was also transported to Trinity Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition.
Preliminary findings indicate the vehicle had been traveling southbound on US-23 before the driver lost control. The SUV crossed the median and rolled multiple times before coming to a stop. Northbound lanes of US-23 near Geddes Road remained closed from approximately 3 a.m. until 6:45 a.m. as authorities investigated and cleared the scene.
We hope those injured in this accident recover quickly.
Each year in Michigan, thousands of crashes result in injuries, many involving young drivers. Rollover accidents, while less common than other types of collisions, account for a disproportionate number of serious injuries and fatalities due to the violent nature of these incidents and the likelihood of ejection.
