Mt Pleasant, MI - Motorcyclist Killed in Crash at Sweeney & Broomfield Sts

Mount Pleasant, MI (May 30, 2025) – A tragic collision claimed the life of a motorcyclist on the afternoon of May 28 in Mount Pleasant. The accident occurred at the intersection of Sweeney Street and Broomfield Street.

According to the Mount Pleasant Department of Public Safety, a Chevrolet 3500 driven by a 45-year-old man was heading north on Sweeney Street when he pulled in front of traffic while crossing Broomfield Street. This action resulted in a collision with a motorcycle operated by a 27-year-old Mount Pleasant man. Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the truck sustained a minor injury but did not seek medical attention. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
