Ensign Twp., MI – Fatal Head-On Collision on Co. 513 T Rd

Ensign Twp., MI (June 2, 2025) – On Sunday morning, June 1, a two-vehicle crash took place in Ensign Township that left one person dead and another seriously injured. The collision occurred around 10:12 a.m. on County 513 T Road, near Twin Springs Park 20.5 Lane.

According to the Michigan State Police, a southbound vehicle crossed over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle. The driver of the northbound vehicle, a 60-year-old Rapid River man, sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 45-year-old man also from Rapid River, sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba for further medical care.

Authorities noted that drugs and/or alcohol are suspected factors in the crash. No passengers were reported in either vehicle. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
