Green Oak Twp., MI - Fatal Truck Crash on US-23 Near Lee Rd

Green Oak Twp., MI (June 6, 2025) – An accident occurred on the morning of June 4 in Green Oak Township, claiming the life of a Clinton Township man. The crash took place around 6:38 a.m. in a construction zone on southbound U.S. 23, just south of Lee Road.

Reports from the Green Oak Township Police Department indicate that the 35-year-old man was operating a commercial truck, typically used for roadway line painting, when he lost control in an area where the lanes shift. The truck rolled over and pinned the driver inside. Emergency crews from multiple agencies, including the Green Oak Township Fire Department and Livingston County EMS, rushed to the scene and worked tirelessly to extricate the victim and render aid.

Despite their efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities noted that the truck was not actively being used for painting at the time of the crash. The victim was a contracted driver performing construction-related duties on the freeway.

The crash remains under investigation by local and state authorities. Southbound U.S. 23 was closed for approximately five hours but has since reopened.
