Mundy Township Crash

Detroit, MI (June 15, 2025) – Early Saturday morning, a serious incident unfolded on Interstate 94 East near Grand Boulevard in Detroit. At around 2:50 a.m. on June 14, a 29-year-old Ferndale man was struck while standing behind his disabled vehicle in the roadway.

Authorities with the Michigan State Police reportedly stated the man lost control of his Ford Mustang, which ended up blocking the left lane. After exiting the car, he stood near the trunk. During that time, a 39-year-old woman from Ferndale driving a Ford Fusion struck him.

The impact was so intense that the individual was thrown across the median wall, landing on the left shoulder of the freeway. Emergency medical personnel transported the man to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Fusion, who remained on the scene, was uninjured.

Police said that neither of the drivers involved in the collision held a valid driver’s license. Investigators are continuing to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.

We hope the wounded individual recovers quickly.

Car Accidents in Michigan

Detroit, MI - Man Struck While Standing Outside Disabled Mustang on I-94Each year in Michigan, car accidents cause thousands of injuries and fatalities. The state regularly sees over 200,000 crashes annually, with many resulting from speeding, impaired driving, and distracted behavior. These events often leave lasting physical and emotional tolls on those involved.

In situations like these, it helps to be informed about some of the critical risks and legal considerations surrounding motor vehicle accidents. Here are some important factors to understand:

  • Unlicensed Driving Risks: Driving without a license not only poses legal consequences but also dramatically increases risks for all road users. Unlicensed drivers often lack proper training or have a history of violations that put others at greater risk.
  • Pedestrian Vulnerability in Roadway Crashes: Standing outside a vehicle, especially on busy highways, places individuals in a vulnerable position. These types of collisions are often severe due to high vehicle speeds and limited reaction times.
  • Liability and Insurance Coverage: When those involved in crashes are unlicensed, it can complicate insurance claims and liability determinations. Legal assistance is often needed to navigate these complex situations.
  • Emergency Response and Investigation: Police and emergency crews respond swiftly, but the post-crash process—including determining fault and providing aid—can take time. These investigations are crucial for ensuring accountability.
  • Medical Care and Recovery: Victims may face extended medical treatment and rehabilitation. Documenting all injuries and follow-up care is essential for any potential legal case.
