Crawford County Crash

Maple Forest Township, MI. - The Michigan State Police is investigating a head-on collision that left a 54-year-old Gaylord man dead on Saturday in Maple Forest Township.

According to a police report, the fatal accident happened a while before 6:00 p.m. June 14, on Briggs Road, near Wilhelm Lane, about two miles north of Camp Grayling.

Police said the military vehicle was heading northeast on Briggs Road when it crashed head-on into an ORV heading southwest.

The collision happened at a curve in the road.

The driver of the ORV died in the crash.

A 49-year-old female passenger was hurt due to the collision. She was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No one in the military car sustained injuries as a result of the crash.

Military officials are cooperating with investigators.

An investigation is underway.
