Grand Rapids, MI (December 18, 2021) – Officers with the Michigan State Police responded to the scene of a 15-vehicle accident in the early morning hours of Sunday, December 12. Authorities stated that it happened on US-131 for reasons still being investigated.
The incident occurred near Wealthy Street when one vehicle lost control on the roadway and the others were traveling too quickly to respond. Minor injuries were reported as a result of the incident, however, the total number of injured parties is currently unknown.
Police wish to remind drivers to slow down and allow more distance between vehicles when the roadways are slippery. US-131 was closed for a prolonged period of time on the 12th for cleanup but has since reopened.
