Harrison Township, MI (August 20, 2023) - Police say that a car crashed into a local home in the Harrison Township area on Sunday evening, August 20, leading to an unknown number of injuries.
Initial reports provided by officers with the Harrison Township Police Department and an alert posted by the Macomb County scanner indicate that the accident occurred on North River Rd at Irwin, across from Selfridge Avenue.
The total number of injured victims has yet to be determined, but EMTs and several police cruisers were spotted at the site of the incident, along with area fire rescue authorities. Officials added that the driver involved attempted to flee the scene on foot, though it's unclear if police were able to apprehend the suspect.
Officers with the Harrison Township PD request that anybody with information in relation to the wreck contact them. In the meantime, their investigation into the facts surrounding the crash remains ongoing and active at this time.
